Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere with 80% of the population living under the poverty line and 54% in extreme poverty. The statistics can easily become overwhelming in knowing how to help or where to start.
Yaya’s House, Inc. exists to come alongside Merianne Esperance and her orphanage, Village d’Esperance, as she seeks to meet the needs of children who have been placed in her care while they wait to be adopted by their forever families. Merianne’s biggest expense is rent for the home she and the children live in, and she has been struggling to pay for basic needs like diapers, the children’s medicine and medical bills, food, water, milk and charcoal for cooking meals. There are also many government and legal fees that come along with preparing a child’s paperwork so that they may be legally adopted by a family.
Every *single* day is survival mode for the folks at Village d’Esperance right now, and for most of the (16) kids who currently live there, Merianne (“Yaya”) is the only mother they have ever known. ⠀
Would you prayerfully consider giving to this worthy cause and help support Yaya’s House and the precious children who live there? Thank you so much for your consideration!
